An Editorial Bridal Shoot at La Granja, Ibiza

There are shoots you plan, and then there are shoots you feel. This one at La Granja Ibiza was the latter.

From the moment I started building this concept, I knew I wanted it to sit somewhere between the romantic and the unexpected — bridal, yes, but with an edge. Something that felt like it could only have happened here, in this place, on this island.

The Venue

La Granja is one of those rare properties that doesn’t need much from you. Its ancient stone walls, wild gardens, and cathedral pines do the work long before any styling begins. Tucked into the Ibizan countryside, it carries that quality this island does so well — wildness and refinement in the same breath.

We worked across several spaces: the dramatic entrance with its steel-framed windows, the gravel garden paths framed by towering pines, and the open poolside terrace where the tablescape came to life. Each corner brought something different, and together they told a story that felt layered and complete.

The Vision: Two Worlds, One Bride

The concept was built around contrast — two distinct energies that feel like they belong together even when they shouldn’t.

The first look was sculptural and almost otherworldly. A large-scale silver fabric installation — liquid, reflective, pooling across the stone steps — transformed the venue’s rustic architecture into something closer to art. Against it, a form-fitting lace gown by Pronovias, stacked pearl necklaces, and a bouquet of long-stemmed white tulips held loosely, almost carelessly. The tension between the industrial shimmer of the silver and the softness of the lace was exactly what I was after.

The second look was warmer and more grounded. The same gown — a beautifully detailed floral-appliqué lace with a delicate embroidered veil — set against La Granja’s natural landscape. The pine grove. The gravel pathways. The dappled light that filters through the trees in the late morning in a way that photographers dream about.

Both looks shared the same bride, the same quiet confidence. The difference was entirely in atmosphere.

The Florals

The flowers were one of my favourite creative decisions on this shoot, and they deserve a moment.

For the bridal looks, everything was pared back to white tulips — unbound, long-stemmed, slightly casual in the hand. No structure, no fuss. Against lace and tulle it reads as genuinely modern. The brilliant Artnatur Ibiza brought this vision to life with effortless precision.

For the tablescape, we went in the opposite direction entirely. A sweeping cascade of mauve and blush hydrangeas formed a sculptural centrepiece beside the dining table — voluminous, almost excessive in the best possible way — topped with deep burgundy tulips for depth. Along the table, clusters of terracotta dahlias and dusty roses sat between crystal glassware and slim white taper candles. Elsewhere, white hydrangea domes anchored anthurium stems rising cleanly into the air — minimal, architectural, striking.

The contrast between the two palettes — pure white and rich dusky pinks — was intentional. Together they created a world that felt both refined and alive.

The Table

A tablescape tells you everything about how a planner thinks.

Ours was set on the poolside terrace, dressed in soft white linen with vintage iron chairs from Ibiza Event Rentals and crystal glassware that caught the Ibiza light beautifully. Each place setting was layered with a textured linen napkin and a hand-illustrated menu card by Z Studios Ibiza — personal and considered. Catering was in the expert hands of La Grande Bouffe Ibiza.

The shadows cast by the afternoon sun across the linens were almost as beautiful as the flowers themselves. That’s what La Granja does — it gives you light you couldn’t manufacture if you tried.

Why I Do Editorial Shoots

These shoots are how I develop and document my creative point of view. They let me work with the finest local talent, explore new concepts without the constraints of a live wedding day, and produce work that reflects exactly the kind of celebrations I want to design.

When couples come to me, I want them to see not just what I’ve done, but how I think — how I approach colour, texture, atmosphere, and the relationship between a space and the story told within it. Editorial work makes that visible.
