EWPC Sardinia: A Few Days That Stayed With Me

A few weeks ago I attended the 15th edition of the Exotic Wedding Planning Conference in Sardinia — a few days spent surrounded by planners, designers, venues, entertainment companies, and creatives from all over the world.

And every time I come back from experiences like this, I’m reminded why I love this industry so much.

Not because of trends or social media.
But because stepping outside your everyday environment gives you perspective. It challenges your thinking, inspires new ideas, and reminds you how much emotion, psychology, hospitality, and human connection are behind truly unforgettable celebrations.

Conversations That Stay With You

One of the highlights for me was listening to Marcy Blum, who continues to be a huge inspiration. I’ve always loved the way she speaks about weddings beyond aesthetics — focusing instead on people, emotion, energy, and experience.

Sara Haywood was another standout. What I always admire about her approach is the balance between creativity and structure. Because the weddings that feel effortless for guests usually involve an enormous amount of thought, leadership, precision, and anticipation happening quietly behind the scenes.

That balance resonates with me deeply.

Beautiful weddings are never only about how they look.
They’re about how they feel to experience.

Why This Matters For My Clients

When clients hire me, they are not simply looking for someone to organise suppliers or manage timelines.

They are trusting someone to guide the entire experience — and that comes with a lot of responsibility.

A huge part of my role is creating clarity and certainty throughout the planning process. Helping clients make decisions with confidence, simplifying overwhelming options, saving them time, and making everything feel calm, structured, and under control.

Many of my clients live very busy lives and simply don’t have the time or desire to deal with hundreds of moving parts, constant communication, negotiations, logistics, and problem-solving.

They want someone they can trust completely.
Someone who can quietly take ownership, anticipate issues before they happen, eliminate unnecessary risks, and guide the process with calm expertise behind the scenes.

Trust and privacy are also incredibly important to me.

The best client relationships are built on people feeling fully supported, understood, protected, and able to actually enjoy the process instead of carrying the pressure of it themselves.

Experience Is Built In The Small Details

One thing that came up repeatedly throughout the conference was how much guest experience is shaped by things people don’t consciously notice.

The timing of dinner.
The energy shift before the party starts.
The music selection.
How guests move through a space.
The transitions throughout the evening.
How hospitality feels from beginning to end.

These details completely change how people experience a wedding.

And this is why I spend so much time thinking not only about design, but about flow, emotion, energy, timing, and atmosphere as a whole.

Because beautiful flowers alone never create an unforgettable celebration.

Sardinia Was A Beautiful Reminder

Beyond the conference itself, Sardinia was incredibly inspiring.

Beautiful coastline, relaxed elegance, amazing hospitality, long dinners, conversations with people from completely different parts of the world — the entire experience naturally creates space for reflection and creativity.

It reminded me how important it is to occasionally step away from routine. To observe, listen, exchange ideas, and continue evolving instead of repeating the same formulas over and over again.

Why I Continue Investing In Experiences Like This

I only take on a selected number of weddings and events each year, and part of that commitment means continuously investing in my own perspective, creativity, and international industry knowledge.

Because my role is not simply to execute logistics.

It’s to guide my clients with calm leadership, experience, honesty, creativity, and care — while creating celebrations that feel effortless, emotional, personal, and deeply alive.

And experiences like EWPC Sardinia are always a beautiful reminder of why I care so much about doing this work well.
