In traditional wedding timelines, couple portraits are often scheduled during cocktail hour. While guests enjoy drinks and conversations, the couple is taken away for a short photo session. In reality, this moment is frequently rushed, stressful, and emotionally disconnected from the celebration.
Many couples find themselves worrying about time, light, and schedules instead of enjoying the moment. As a result, photos can feel forced — and precious time with guests is lost.
For a smoother and more relaxed experience, I strongly recommend planning your main photo session before the ceremony. By allowing one to one-and-a-half hours with your photographer, videographer, and content creator, you create space to capture couple portraits, family photos, and key details calmly and beautifully.
The light is often better, energy is more relaxed, and nothing feels rushed. Most importantly, after the ceremony, you are free to fully enjoy your guests, knowing your memories have already been captured with care and intention.
